The Next Generation Has an Ego

This week, we had the wonderful opportunity to step away from our laptops and spend an evening with the incredible young women of Girls Inc. of Sarasota County for their Project Accelerate program.
In honor of Women's Small Business Month, we shared our experiences navigating careers, taking risks, embracing change, and ultimately building Ego Co. Studio.
But the conversation went beyond entrepreneurship.
We talked about the pressure to have everything figured out, the reality of pursuing an unconventional career path, and the importance of recognizing your strengths -even when they don't fit into someone else's definition of success.
Because if building Ego Co. has taught us anything, it's that there isn't one right way to build a career, a business, or a life you're proud of.
Sometimes the biggest opportunities come from questioning the path you thought you were supposed to follow.
And sometimes, having a little ego is exactly what you need to bet on yourself.

We also wanted to leave the girls with something more than career advice.
For our giveaway, we curated a bag of everyday products from brands with unique stories, unconventional beginnings, and interesting identities.
Our challenge to the girls? Get curious.
Look into the brands behind the products you use. Ask how they started, what makes them different, and why you gravitate toward certain products over others.
Because behind every brand is a story, a series of decisions, and often someone who took a chance on an idea.
And sometimes, a little curiosity is all it takes to see the world (and the opportunities around you) a little differently.

Here's to the next generation of women who aren't afraid to create their own lane.
A huge thank you to the amazing staff at Girls Inc. for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful conversation. We're grateful for the opportunity to share our experiences and connect with the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs!
